With a Transitional Stop at a Studienkolleg on the Way to University Studies

Підготовчий коледж

The Studienkolleg bridges the one-year educational gap between Ukraine and Germany. It provides subject-specific and language preparation before entering a university. At the end of the Studienkolleg, students must pass the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) examination. Admission to the Studienkolleg is possible with a certificate of complete general secondary education.

The Studienkolleg offers preparation in five subject areas:

  • Medicine (M-Kurs)
  • Natural Sciences and Engineering (T-Kurs)
  • Economics (W-Kurs)
  • Language Studies (S-Kurs)
  • Humanities (G-Kurs)

The duration of the Studienkolleg program is two semesters.

Tuition is free, but students must pay a semester fee of approximately 300 euros.

After successfully passing the FSP exam, graduates receive university entrance qualification valid for all universities in Germany. In addition, proof of German language proficiency at C1 level is required.

The program includes approximately 32 teaching hours per week.

It is not possible to apply directly to a Studienkolleg. Applicants must instead apply for a study program at their desired faculty via the platform www.uni-assist.de.

Required Documents:

  • Certificate of complete general secondary education, including transcript of grades (translation and notarized certification)
  • Proof of German proficiency at least at B1 level (e.g., a Goethe-Institut certificate)

Application Deadlines:

Winter semester – by June 15

Summer semester – by December 15

Admission notices are typically issued in mid-July or mid-January. Entrance exams take place at the end of August or at the end of February. Classes start at the beginning of September or March, respectively.

The entrance test includes a C-Test (German language) and a mathematics test for M-, W-, and T-Courses. The exams must be taken in person.

Some university faculties may have additional admission requirements, such as proof of English proficiency. You can find detailed information on the website of Leipzig University: www.uni-leipzig.de
