Informational online week Studying in Germany

Events

From May 2nd to May 5th, 2023, an informational online week titled "Studying in Germany" took place. Over the course of four days, informational sessions were held to provide insights into studying in Germany. Each session consisted of four to five blocks, each lasting 30 minutes.

The main topics covered were:

  • How to find your field of study and your university.
  • How to apply for admission to a university.
  • How to finance your studies in Germany.
  • Student life in Germany.

The most significant obstacle for Ukrainian graduates aspiring to study at higher education institutions in Germany is the language proficiency exams. To gain admission to a college or university, it is necessary to have a language proficiency level of at least B2 (some colleges accept B1 level for the exams). However, even meeting these requirements does not always guarantee success. There are numerous exams and various aspects to consider, such as deadlines, obtaining certificates, possible resits, and exam preparation.

Understanding which exam is required, when to start preparing, where to register, and how to avoid failure were among the topics covered in a presentation by Alina Serhiivna Zakrevska. She is the founder of the PAUKER club, a coordinator of PASCH, and an expert on international German language exams.
