One of the key advantages of the TestDaF exam compared to other language tests is its clear and transparent schedule*. Exam dates are published at least one year in advance, and the registration periods as well as result release dates are clearly indicated. We recommend that our students plan their TestDaF exam well in advance in order to have enough time for preparation and, if necessary, a retake.
Below you will find the TestDaF digital schedule for 2026:
- the first column shows the exam date,
- the second the registration period,
- the third the date when results are published.
We deliberately list only the digital TestDaF exams, as they are offered more frequently (almost monthly) and results are available approximately one month after the exam.
When is the best time to take the TestDaF?
Let us assume that you need to submit your application documents to your chosen universities by 15 July. In this case, the latest possible exam date for you would be 11 June 2026. However, we strongly recommend choosing an earlier date - 21 April 2026. You will receive the results of this exam on 12 May 2026, leaving you more than two weeks to register for the next session if the result is not satisfactory.
This time buffer allows you to:
- analyze your mistakes,
- work on weak areas,
- prepare more effectively for a second attempt.
If you pass the exam successfully in April, you will also have sufficient time to prepare your application documents, such as your CV and motivation letter.
Please also keep in mind that in some test centers places fill up very quickly. Therefore, it is advisable to register as early as January.
