Exam Description.
The Goethe-Zertifikat B2 exam is modular. This means that in case of failure, you only need to retake the part of the four exam sections that you did not pass.
The exam is offered either in paper format or as a computer-based test. In the first case, you should practice the writing section by hand. In the second case, you should practice typing using the German keyboard layout.
General tips:
- Pay attention to registration and verification deadlines.
- Allow enough time in case you need to retake the exam.
- In each section, leave time to fill in the answer sheet.
- The correct answer must be marked with a cross that does not extend beyond the square.
- Do not bring electronic devices or electronic watches to the exam. It is best to bring a simple analog wristwatch with hands.
